Inspection on the market and education program
ACTIVITIES OF INSPECTING GOODS DISPLAYED FOR SALE AT THE VEAL RINH MARKET AND DISSEMINATING THE QUALITY AND SAFETY OF GOODS PRODUCTS AT THE STUNG HAOV JUNIOR HIGH SCHOOL
On May 10th , 2002, the Sihanoukville-based Camcontrol branch officials led by Mr. Bong Vuthy, deputy chief of the branch, in co-operation with the officials of the town trade office and the Khan Prey Nub authorities went down to inspect goods being displayed for sale at the Veal Rinh market and at various shops located in Sangkat Veal Rinh, Khan Prey Nub.
During the inspection, the Sihanoukville-based Camcontrol branch officials paid much attention to inspecting the already-wrapped or packaged food products and all types of strong and soft drinks so as to timely prevent goods with spoiled quality and goods with expiration date being displayed for sale, which may affect consumer health and safety.
The Camcontrol officials then confiscated a number of goods with both spoiled quality and expiration date based on the Law on the Management of the Quality and Safety of products, and services. Also in the meantime, Camcontrol officials recommended all the traders how to inspect goods before buying them for sale at the markets.
In the morning of May 15th , 2002, the Sihanoukville-based Camcontrol branch officials headed by Mr. Chap Yaroeun, deputy chief of the branch, in co-operation with the director of the Stung Haov Junior High School and the local authorities in Khan Stung Haov went down to the Stung Haov Junior High School to disseminate and educate the 412 students on the quality of the canned and wrapped food and the consequences caused by drugs.
Mr. Chap Yaroeun, deputy chief of the Sihanoukville-based Camcontrol branch, also raised the Law on the Management of the Quality and safety of products, and services by focusing two main points, one of which deals with the understanding of the quality of drinks and the already- packaged food, goods with expiration date and the falsified goods and another main point is about the consequences caused by drugs.
Finally, Mr. director of the Stung Haov Junior High School, expressed his deep thanks to the Sihanoukville-based Camcontrol branch officials who availed themselves of the opportunity to come to educate the students to gain more understanding about the quality of goods and the falsification of goods products and the special features of irregular goods devoid of required quality, which makes them lose both money, health and time for studies.
